Things to do

A visit to Killhope is a unique and unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages. We will make sure you have a day to remember. You can explore the site and exhibition halls, accompany one of our guides on a mine tour and visit the refurbished shop and café to complete a grand day out.

Killhope is also home to Great Britain’s largest collection of spar boxes. These unique works of art, made of crystals and minerals found by the lead miners working underground.

The museum is 450 meters (1500 feet) above sea level. We recommend that even in summer you come dressed for adventure and wear warm clothing and sensible footwear so that you can make the most of your visit. Wellingtons are essential for mine trips and you must bring your own.
