The body on Killhope moor

The year is 1921 and local shepherd Titus Harrison was tending his flock on Killhope Moor when he saw a box protruding from the peat. On kicking the box, the head of a skeleton fell out… Who found this body and what were the circumstances are the focus of The Body on Killhope Moor project by Drama in the Dale, funded by The National Heritage Lottery Fund.

Performances of a play, specially written using the findings of a team of researchers, will be premiered at Killhope in August and September.

30 August 2021 is exactly 100 years since the find.
