Handworked is a series of images sited around Killhope Lead Mining Museum that represent five crafts people who live and/or work in the North Pennines.
Commissioned throughout 2021/2022 Wideyed photographers present “crafts” in their many forms, the artisan, the heritage craftsman, the micro factory. The common thread that binds these crafts is the products made are all hand worked, whether artisan or tradesman, these skilled individuals’ creative ideas are brought to life through their hands and the tools they have adopted.
Louise Taylor and Nat Wilkins are both members of Wideyed, a North East based photography collective founded in 2008. Wideyed have wide-ranging experience in the production of photographic arts projects, exhibitions, publications, and participatory arts, delivering arts projects that work with and engage diverse audiences.
